If you are going to stand for 25 minutes ( which seems to be the trend ) with only a couple of takedown attempts and guys able to pop up off the floor, it would be entertaining for these athletes to have better stand up skills. No it is NOT muay thai but overall, standup skills are very poor in MMA. No one seems to complain about the lack of fast paced grappling, just stalling or ground and pound. Look, I put the thread up for people to watch. Not to turn it into an argument. Even Joe Rogan wonders why more people don’t watch Muay Thai and that it has so much to offer MMA. There are ways to modify your striking to make it less vulnerable to takedowns so that is argument is null and void.
