The Sad Thing About Randy was...

...not that he retired, or that he lost, but that he didn't go out fighting his game.

He gave chuck too much respect instead of fighting his own game to the best of his abilities.

I'd rather see Randy go out being Randy 100%.

Randy looked a little timid in the rubber match.

I guess thats what happens when you get knocked out bad in a previous fight.

I liked when he got frustrated and just doubled the shit out of him.

Liddell's ability to scramble back to his feet is sick, but he can be taken down if you commit to it.

exactly, when Chuck said in the pre-fights, "I knocked him out once, so I know I can do it again," I think he was referring to getting that in Randy's mind more than anything.

What was he supposed to do? Come out chasing Chuck like he did in fight 2?

He was patient, waited for the right opp, which he did in round 1 but Chuck showed why he is the man and got up from a Randy Couture td. And Randy never was able to close the distance after that. Thats more tribute to Chuck's skill than the lack of what Randy was able to do imo.

At least he went out fighting the best (as he always did).

Chuck just had his number is all.
