There would be interest in Conor vs Volk

I know Conor is never making 145 lbs again and I know he wants another title fight and now apparently Volk wants to keep his FW title and get a crack at the LW title.

I don’t think a reigning champ has ever moved up and had to fight a #1 contenders fight instead of getting a direct title shot but there would be a lot of fan interest if UFC booked Volk vs Conor at 155 with the winner getting a crack at the winner of Oliveira Makhachev.

Conor’s the former FW champ who left the division without losing there in the UFC, Volk the reigning FW champ a lot of people now call the GOAT FW. Its an interesting fight to the public and knowing the winner will fight the champ, whoever wins Oliveira vs Makhachev, 10-0 vs 11-0, its interesting.

I’m not saying its good for sport of MMA or what I want to see… I just think its possible UFC did something like this, it would not shock me.

I would watch. I love the entertainment part of the sport as well. I like fun fights.

I don’t even want to see it to be honest, I’d rather see like the RDA Fizaev winner vs Dariush for the next shot at the Oliveira Makhachev winner but it just seems like Conor Volk could get the casuals attention right now.

I agree and think all the elite LW’s eat Conor’s lunch as well right now but he is gonna still want another run at the title and he will likely get it.

Volk has been on an epic run here, Mendes, Aldo, Max 3x, Ortega and Zombie. Pretty good way to cap off a 22 fight win streak.
