Now he's 280, his standup is much better. But how much wrestling and ground work was he doing while dominating K-1?

Sure he COULD, but Maybe, just MAYBE, Pride(excuse the pun) will get in the way and AO will keep it standing to try to prove a point.
Come to think of it though, I am not sure Overeem would gameplan to take the fight to the ground.
