MMA legends Cris Cyborg and Tito Ortiz are teaming up for an action-packed film set to release next month.
Cyborg is the Bellator women’s featherweight champion and is expected to return to the cage later this year. She hasn’t fought in MMA since a successful title defense against Arlene Blencowe at Bellator 279.
Cyborg also debuted in the boxing ring, winning her first fight last September. She defeated Gabrielle Holloway in her second boxing match last December.
Ortiz, meanwhile, has appeared in movies and television since the prime of his MMA career. He has been featured in Above the Shadows and Boo 2! A Madea Halloween in recent years.
Both Cyborg and Ortiz will be teammates in Operation Black Ops, which recently released a trailer in preparation for the July 11 premiere.
Cyborg and Ortiz aren’t the first current or former MMA fighters to make the move to the big screens. Donald Cerrone, after retiring last year, has appeared in numerous films and is targeting a career as an action star.
Former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has appeared in The Expendables 3 and Furious 7 during her athletic career.
Tito Manages Cyborg IIRC
Cyborg was already a movie star after her brilliant appearance in the much loved film, Fight Valley.
Tito was alright in whatever that MMA movie that had Megan Fox was. I can’t imagine why anyone would ever cast Cyborg though.
Operation Black Ops?
Tito definitely had creative input on that title
Fuck, can you imagine how many takes had to be done for Tito to nail his lines
that looks as bad as any of ken or frank shamrocks movies
Return of the Purple Cape. Starring Ken Shamrock.
Who Needs a Damn Dog Anyway. Starring Frank Shamrock.
The best movie stars of the night.
Operation Black Ops is the name of the movie?
As in Operation Black Operations?
Of course Tito would be involved in this.
