There are zombies, and smart zombies, and speed zombies, and now we have an injured zombie.

Following his loss to Jose Aldo at UFC 163, Chan Sung Jung (AKA TKZ, AKA The Korean Zombie) underwent surgery for a dislocated right shoulder and broken orbital bone. The fight ended when TKZ disclocated his shoulder, and was unable to continue.

The fight was Jung's first since May of 2012, and followed surgery on his left shoulder.

"Most likely, he'll be out a year," manager Brian Rhee told MMAFighting.com, "but that depends on how rehab goes."

This fucking sucks to hear Phone Post

Shitty Phone Post

how can he have so many shoulder issues?

It happens. Once it comes out once it's never the same again. It was a bad dislocation too, as in, it came out and stayed out (sometimes they go back in on their own).

I had my left reconstructed last January and even now I wouldn't say it's perfect. If he's disciplined with rehab a year is about what it will take but he's a professional athlete so it may be less.

I just hope he gets healthy and we get to see him fight again.

Fuuuuuuuu... long lay off from his previous fight to another long lay off. TKZ will have only fought once a year for two straight years. Hope he returns soon and makes another run.

Talk about deflating a penis.... I mean career. Phone Post 3.0

Fuuuuuuck. Yesterday we find out Struve is possibly out forever and now this?

I might just stay off the ug tomorrow. Phone Post 3.0

Damn :(

BeatonHauff - I hope the ufc compensates him well. Rhonda making 90k and TKZ making 20k is a fucking joke. Phone Post

I know, Ronda should be making much more. Phone Post 3.0

dont worry the ufc takes care of its fighters....

Zombie should be one if the highest paid ufc fighters with regards to excitement, popularity and skills, but he isn't even a top paid fw.

Goddamit fucking sucks.

Still one of my favorite fighters. Even less chance to rock the Korean zombie T-shirt now.

Fuck. Hope he recovers....faster then originally prognoses.

May he have a swift and safe recovery. Phone Post 3.0

playing devils advocate, i dont think TKZ spent most of the past 2 years (ish?) doing media at the UFC's request. Ronda gets compensated for what she puts in.

I'm not saying that TKZ doesn't deserve more money, there are just a ton of factors to consider besides just the fight money, like popularity, press, and most importantly, the existing contract. Maybe he signed the contract when he was less popular, and it's a six-fight deal. We don't know the terms.

Sometimes it isn't fair that the UFC pushes one fighter over the other, but they do it for whatever reason they need to. Perhaps it was worth more to the UFC to promote the womens' division, especially in light of the new TUF, than it was to promote TKZ vs Aldo. Their business judgment is usually pretty sound, so I would say the decision has a strong likelihood of returning more viewers and profits to the UFC.

TKZ is the shit though, and I hope he makes a full recovery and gets his bills paid by the UFC, with some cost of living money to get him through the injury period stronger. Hopefully he's at the end of his contract, and he can negotiate a higher purse too.

Damn, well at least he will have some income from his new gym. And i trust that ufc paid him a nice bonus
