Except that would increase the total payout, and also remove the "lottery" payoff that quadruples a fighters pay. . . leading them to forgo an alternative. . .
Agents and fighters not yet in the UFC consider that "extra 75k" when considering the potential payout a fighter would receive in the UFC as opposed to promoter X. . . it is completely irrational to assume fighter X would have received that bonus for his or her performance in Promotion Y. . . yet they do exactly this. . .
There is a reason this pay structure is preferred by Zuffa. . . it keeps guys "willing" and "obedient."
