The days of 1 mill ppv buys is a thing of the past in ufcs current state. Ufc 100 was epic, what would be necessary today to match those numbers?
Big matchups baby!
Super fights
Needle movers
Champ vs champ
Legend vs legend
Maybe a freak show or two?
You are joe silva and Sean Shelby in one. As joean shelva it is your job to beat ufc 100 numbers.
What does your ufc 200 card look like?
Obviously this is hypothetical as knowing what will be going on in 2 years is impossibr
Mine:
Main card
Cain vs Jon jones
Anderson vs gsp
Pettis vs Aldo
Dillashaw vs Mighty Mouse
Rousey vs cyborg
Prelims
Weidman vs Johny Hendricks
Aguilar vs Esparza
Stefan Struve vs John Dodson at a cAtchweight
Chael vs mcgreggor in a loser leaves town ladder match
Add yours
I would buy it at a premium.
I would add Mark Hunt in a title fight.
Battle royale using every fighter that was caught for PEDs.
Yes, they have to throw themselves out of the cage.
Winner gets immediate title shot.
Lets make it somewhat realistic. In other words, no more than two title fights.
Bones vs Gus 2
Aldo vs McGregor
Lawler vs Diaz 2 (if Robbie doesn't win the belt)
Travis Browne vs JDS
Matt Brown vs Condit
Tate is a needle mover.
Fedor vs Cain... Get. The. Fuck. Out.
Hopefully it's not injury ravaged that would be the most depressing shit ever
I predict UFC 200 will air on fightpass to maximize subscribers... to see just how many subscribers Zuffa can get on fightpass.
The fox deal will be coming to an end at that time and Zuffa would be in a great position with a subscription network like fightpass that has a significant subscriber base also competing for the content.
UFC 200 will take place around mid 2016... fightpass should be available on pretty much every device by then and have all the bugs and features worked out.
if Zuffa can add a million subscribers to fightpass by including a huge event like UFC 200 as part of the subscription, you'd only need them to stick around for 2.5 months on average for it to be a wash compared to 1 million ppv buys.
the problem is there's a significant amount of people already subscribed. so to make it work you'd probably have to raise the price to 14.95 a month.
TheAsianAssassin - Tate is a needle mover.See what u did there..
Don't know why so many of you have Jon Jones in a super fight when he is about to lose the title. If I am picking a fight card it would be:
Cain vs Hunt (HWT title)
Cormier vs Weidman (LHW Title)
Cyborg vs Rousey (BW title)
Anderson Silva vs GSP (5 rounds)
Nick Diaz vs Lawler
Solly97 - realisticallyTJs on the tail end of his career by ufc 200? Shit he went downhill fast
(HW c) Cain Velasquez vs (LHW c) Jon Jones - Super fight
(c) Johnny Hendricks vs GSP 2 - return of gsp, much anticipated rematch
TJ Dillashaw vs Urijah Faber - much anticipated matchup. TJ getting destroyed by cruz for the belt earlier, worked way up to a title shot only to lose. wins a fight, takes the FAber fight as he's on the tail end of his career and wants to go out on a bang on this biggest possible card
Conor Mcgregor vs Nate Diaz - LW #1 contender bout, Nate finding stability after an up an down return at LW, Conor moving up to 155 after losing the belt but winning a final fight at 145
Cub Swanson vs TKZ - wild fight, cub Swanson working his way back to a title shot after a loss to aldo in his rematch. winner of this fight gets a #1 contender fight
Every weight class will have their own royal rumble, the winner will then face the champ in the evenings event. This will all be one big super show. An all day event type of thing. Then after the winners are crowned in the title matches, they will all face off in the ultimate battle royal to crown the King of the Iron Fist Tournament champion! All for the low subscription price of $9.99
DC vs JONES III
MIGHTY MOUSE v CRUZ II
RASHAD v ANDERSON
ROSE v FELICE
ROCKHOLD v MACHIDA
Diaz vs Lawler 2 intrigues me.
GSPs return would pull huge numbers

The guy in the top comment that I quoted picked Nate vs Conor. I know it wasn't on UFC 200 but still crazy considering this was 2 years ago.
