‘UFC Buys Bellator In Response To Ngannou vs. Fury’ - Twitter Reacts To Fedor Emelianenko, Michael Page, AJ McKee, & Others Appearing On UFC Website

A recent revelation drew confused reactions from the MMA community.

In early…

The topic of Bellator MMA fighter crossing over to the UFC recently picked up following Michael “Venom” Page’s interview on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.

Page, who has competed 19 times under the Bellator banner since his debut in 2013, announced that he’s entered a period of free agency as he looks to explore his options.

Soon after, as fans pondered seeing the Englishman’s striking talents arrive in the Octagon, one eagle-eyed user spotted an athlete profile account for “Venom” on the UFC website.
That quickly spiralled, with fans discovery profiles for a number of Bellator stars, from reigning three-time featherweight champion Patrício Pitbull and ex-titleholder AJ McKee to the legendary Fedor Emelianenko.

After doing some digging, MMA reporter Nolan King revealed that the pages have existed for a number of months.
Unsurprisingly, talk of the UFC purchasing Bellator quickly arose. The Scott Coker-led organization has reportedly been on the market since the start of 2023, with owners Paramount Global seeking a “partner” to buy a share of the promotion.
While the Professional Fighters League (PFL) has emerged as a heavily rumored possible buyer, the recent Internet activity has seen fans ponder the UFC acquiring its rival.

Fans React In Confusion To Bellator Stars’ UFC Site Presence

Reacting to the athlete profiles on social media, a number of fans and pundits joked that the UFC may have purchased Bellator in order to distract from its former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou’s recently announced boxing match with Tyson Fury.

White and the UFC have attracted attention in recent months for coinciding a number of sizable announcements with revelations regarding Ngannou’s career outside the Octagon.

So yes they did…?

So just speculation?

So they did or not so much? I’m betting nothing is official or MMA Junkie and others would run headlines.

Then again profiles of Pitbull, Mckee and Fedor… that is not an accident.

I guess the records for the fighters are wildly off. Like for MVP, it has his record as 12-0.

He hasn’t been 12-0 in over ten years. Looks like it’s just speculation because the fighters’ profiles are on the site. So is Jose Canseco.

“Tony Gwynn has a UFC record of .370”
