Technical Primates - I honestly can't remember any of his fights before Roy. Says it all really, hope he goes to Bellator and does well though.
He lay-n-prayed Struve for a win on the Rousey-Holm card. Struve looked tentative as fuck in that fight though so they were equally to blame for the snoozefest.
Echoing many statements in here. I never like to see someone out of work. Rosholt has a good record and logically speaking, still deserves to be in the ufc. But it is the entertainment business and he was about as boring as they come
He really needs to change his style up if he wants mma fans to have his back.
This guy was the epitome of stand and bang. What a loss to the roster.
All his fights are just soooo. It's honestly disappointing when they waste space for him on cards. Like when he fought Struve on the maincard.... oh my god that was an awful idea. Good riddance
You know it is bad when the UFC cuts you with a winning record in their most thin and contender starved division. All that being said, I think the UFC should have kept him on board to fight a guy like Duffee,Bigfoot, or Gonzaga.
cut this guy and sign cm punk. im worried they may be starting to jump the shark here.
He was obviously cut because he is boring as fuck, not because he's a loser.
He needs to embrace his boring fights.
Heel it up.
People will then want to watch him fight with hopes he gets his ass kicked.
This is an entertainment business.
You want honor and competition?
Go watch Abu Dhabi, Mundials, NCAA wrestling, etc.
In pro MMA you need to be watching to see one guy win or hoping one guy gets his ass kicked.
There is too much entertainment and so much MMA out there that seeing two nameless guys without personalities doesn't cut it anymore.
Cage fighting alone isn't the thrill it once was.
Rosholt makes Askren look like Micky Ward.
Own it.
Go to Bellator. Get sponsors like Zzzzquil or 5 hour energy and embrace the awful.
That extremely unexciting style is good, as long as you keep winning.

You should be his manager. For reals
Very weird release. He beat Struve and fought to a decision against Big Country. I wonder if there's a back story.
I don't want to believe the UFC is releasing "boring" guys on that alone. That undermines the sport.
Along those lines, I don't like to see guys with good records and legit skill released based on boring. Guys like Rosholt are going to weed out the guys that don't deserve to be there, plus they serve a unique role: these are the guys that your Werdum's, Cormier's, Arlovski's and Stipe's are going to highlight reel KO. Think about it. You can't give Arlovski a completely new guy... that's disgusting. And he's not going to highlight reel the top guys. But the gatekeepers... maybe.

They couldn't justify not signing Askren if they kept him.
SensoriaUtopia - Not sure what to think, on one hand the guy is super boring, but he is a heavyweight, thin division, with a 6-2 record, so in the sporting sense, a very unfair cut.
I think this speaks more to zuffa's shitty matcmaking, if you put him in with Struve, he will make it boring, but you put him in with Gonzaga, Travis Browne, Mitrione, some of these other heavies, they would make it a somewhat fun fight.
I think I agree. Give "boring" fighters increasingly tougher matchups until they're "not boring anymore". I hate throwing around the "protecting X from Y" accusation, but I wonder how much of it is that... like, why do they cut them instead of giving them tougher fights?

He won't be a highlight reel because he will not engage.
