Rosholt, nicknamed "The Big Show," was recently released by the organization, a UFC official confirmed with MMAFighting.com following some online speculation. The decision comes after the 14-3 heavyweight fighter lost a unanimous decision to Roy Nelson in February.
The 29-year-old Rosholt had a 6-2 record inside the Octagon, however, he only finished one opponent during that stretch. He was often accused of not producing the most fan-friendly fights.
A former three-time Division I NCAA wrestler at Oklahoma State University, Rosholt had been a member of the UFC since Nov. 2013.
Weird cut to make. He just had 1 loss after 3 straight wins, and the HW division is pretty thin as it is. They must have been looking for any excuse to get rid of him.
Hopefully Bellator signs him and we can see him fight Mitrione.
Though I never like seeing cuts, it is possible to be an exciting fighter and having a lot of decisions. Bendo, GSP, Jones, DJ. These guys are all really great to watch.
Rosholt is kinda like Okami, just not a very fun guy to watch fight. Wish him the best wherever he ends up though
