That coupled by his award winning acting role in the first title win, it was a riveting portrayal of being hurt and confused from an illegal knee to a downed opponent. Worked out for aljo way better unlike his teammate weidman who attempted the same role but backfired and he lost lmao.

Aljo actually made a fan out of me during the post-fight press conference. I was impressed by him. No excuses, no BS, he owned it.
Many, many fighters get KO’d and claim it was a lucky shot, or they had a bad training camp, they were injured, etc. Aljo owned the lost, I respect that. And I hated his guts before the fight.
