Velasquez Opens Up on Struggles in Jail After Arrest

In February 2022, the former MMA fighter was arrested on charges of attempted murder, as well as a litany of other charges. Cain Velasquez reportedly fired several times after a car in traffic, and struck one man inside the car. The news frankly shocked the UFC world, considering the fighter’s strong reputation as a family man, and kind individual.
Just a few days later, it was revealed that Cain Velasquez was firing at Harry Goularte Jr. The man had been arrested for sexually abusing one of the former champion’s children. The fighter didn’t hit the man but did hit his father, who was in the car as well. While many in the court of public opinion were willing to give the fighter some leniency, the judge wasn’t.

For eight months, Cain Velasquez stood in a jail cell, waiting for trial. He was finally released on bail last November but has remained quiet. In a recent interview with Rampage Jackson on his podcast, he opened up a bit on the struggles he had during that time. Admittedly, he didn’t have too many.

However, the former champion did note how being incarcerated changes your view on things. All the small things that Cain Velasquez took for granted prior to last year, he doesn’t anymore.

“I’ve never been alone in a long time really. I really just needed to be alone and take care [of ] whatever”, Cain Velasquez stated in the interview on the JAXXON podcast. “… I took the opportunity to build myself in that time. It was good and bad, but mainly good. Like, I believe a lot of people should experience something like that. [To] have their freedoms taken away to appreciate what you have.”

He continued, “It’s the smallest of things that we take for granted. We’re so blessed every day, and we’re so down on the dumbest things. When s*it gets taken away you realize ‘Oh, I had all this. I had this opportunity to leave whenever I wanted to, to get in my car and go outside’.

From my bit of research I’ve done on the charges, Cain is very well looking at a possible sentence of somewhere around 15 years in prison if you include the gun enhancements. He’s been charged with 1st degree attempted murder which can see a person convicted to life in prison, but can typically leave a convicted individual with around half of what they’d receive for a 1st degree murder conviction, which is a minimum of 25 years before the opportunity for parole (so ~12.5 years for Cain). I did a bit of Googling and found one guy in CA who was given 10 years for an attempted murder charge so there could very well be leniency given depending on the circumstances and the individual, but idk. Really don’t seem him getting anything less than 5 years in the pen served before the opportunity for parole, but as you may know with things in the American justice system… money talks.

The juror selection is going to be difficult upon agreement.

He’s going to be tried by a jury of his peers who will likely be fairly anti-gun and who will very possibly consider former mma fighters former human cock fighters. Even the people around here who own guns and present themselves as pro gun are still captive to the American brainwashing that has programmed them to consider guns a dirty and dangerous subject. Not that I’m necessarily condoning what he did, but I also don’t think I want to see him go to prison for it. Mostly because I’m doubtful that he’ll reoffend.

But do you know how jury selection works? I’ve been to trial. Had to deal with approval and denial.

Not entirely, but it’s my understanding that the defense has a hand in who is selected. The problem is that people can simply lie about their biases. What do you think?

If Cain had wanted to kill him, the pedophile would already be dead. It was merely a tough-guy demonstration meant to instill fear in the bastard and maintain a facade.

Similarly, in many shots fired during wars, they weren’t even aimed at the ‘enemy.’ They were fired to demonstrate that they were acting as soldiers, attempting to intimidate opposing forces and coping with a situation they never truly wanted to be part of.

If some one really intends to kill someone in such a way, it’s not done haphazardly and in plain sight. It’s meticulously planned, executed with calculated coldness and efficiency.

I will take your word for it, champ.

I see most people don’t understand all 3 people in the car were involved. It was the abuser and his parents, who ran the daycare, and Cain trusted them with his son.

The parents allowed their son to do it, interact with other peoples kids in their care, they weren’t watching.

I personally believe Cain deserves some time for firing a weapon in public, but given the circumstances, I don’t think it should be significant time at all.

The pedo should get life and free Cain. He was not of sound mind and no one can blame him

Fuck any of you that say cain deserves or should serve any jail time.

WILL he do jail time due to laws that he broke? Absolutely. Does he deserve it? Fuck no.

The poor bastard reacted to something horrible that happened to his child.

That being said these pedo loving faggots in the bay will likely throw the book at him
