Ever get stuck on bottom side control? Here is an escape
from the head and arm tie up on bottom side control - the
Elbow Tuck Escape.
After my last video technique, I know there must have been
a few people wondering, "But what if he is grabbing around the
head..." so here is one of my most reliable escapes from the
head and arm hold from side control.
There are MANY escapes from that position... and if you try
them and none of them work... then wait for the opportunity
to use this escape! As I mention, at some point they are
going to release the arm, and when they do... BAM, you hit
this move explosively! Check it out!
If you like the video, please do me favor and post a comment
or "TTT" on here and please post a comment on the bottom
my page here: www.MarcosAvellan.com/elbow-tuck-escape
By posting comments, it helps promote me and my gym so
I'd appreciate the help.
Next week I'll post another technique here. One more thing,
I love feedback, so if anybody hits this move in training or in
a match, please post some feedback on my facebook page
wall at www.facebook.com/MarcosAvellan and "like" my page.
Sincerely,
Marcos Avellan

How about a follow up when some trys that escape on you? What would do you do to prevent that escape (assuming you are going for a submission). Better timing?
ttt - if you can't get to your knees, you can also shrimp into him. Try to get as under him as much as possible, then bridge as you roll him over you..end up the same as this escape.
I think a follow up when someone tries that escape on you is to get rid of the head lock. Then it depends on whether you think you can stay on top or not....
If you think you can fight to stay on top:
You can change to a wizzer and your other hand can either post on the back of his head and you can grab this wrist with your wizzering hand... or instead of posting on the back of his head and roll him into side control. Or you could front head lock instead of posting on the head and see if arm in guillotine, peruvian neck tie, anaconda, etc. are there... I'd start with the posting on the head version though, because you need some time to rotate your body around for the others.
If you think it's inevitable that he's going to get top position:
If he's really over you as he comes to his knees start attacking his underhooking arm with a triangle or oma. You could post your foot on his hip as you wizzer the arm and try a straight armbar or shoulder lock.
Let go the scarf hold and go to side control. Stay on top, if the guy is getting you back an option is to spin fast to the other way (to his legs) before he can secure a control of your back.
