Rewrite the rules and explain to the judges that a one stuffed takedown is equal to a takedown on their score cards.
that's dumb
Lol. Op is a retard.
But I roll my joints during the boring fights....
: (
No,not at all.
Strykr619 -They should do a full score or something. I'm no expert but they could score a bunch. Like 1 point for a significant strike, 2 for a take down, none for defence. So that way a flurry to try to ko, say gets 5 points for 5 punches that land, guy defending could take him down and land two good shot, earning him 4 points back.Fobby - Good idea. Takedowns should not be worth anything if they don't cause damage afterwards.
Strikes should not count then if they don't lead to a KO. Now think about how stupid that sounds and read what you just posted.
Scoring is just a bit weird how it is.
What I said is t perfect but something that credits damage and important transitions of control rather than control itself. So lying on the guy for 2 minutes gets you nothing. Being on top and getting some slick transitions that could help you win the fight does. Or being on top and whacking the guy gives you points but not just lying there.
Vikingknee - Lol. Op is a retard.Yes. Those are some great points you made!
Pride rules: soccer kicks
how about stop making stupid fucking match ups? joe silva can be a retard sometimes. what the fuck was he expecting with Davis vs Machida?
Strykr619 -Disagree. Strikes whether they actually KO someone or not cause damage. A takedown is simply a change in position and should count no more than passing the guard. If it significantly changes the fight it should count for more but if the other guy pops right back up or nothing happens and it leads to to a stand up, it shouldn't count for much.Fobby - Good idea. Takedowns should not be worth anything if they don't cause damage afterwards.

Fobby - Good idea. Takedowns should not be worth anything if they don't cause damage afterwards.Clearly you've never been hit with a solid double.
Blahhh....
Axe the win bonus
Make it double to finish.
Problem solved.
Defense should never count for much of anything because if a round is ever so uneventfull and even That nothing really transpires, then the most agressive Fighter wanting to make something happen should get the nod.
If nothing happens strikingwise but one guys is agressively attempting takedowns, then the Guy agressively attemting to make something happen gets the nod.
But That aggresiveness does not simply just overcome 3 good pinpoint countrrstrikes ,That dont nesscesarily inflict
Severe damage.
Sometimes people just put to much emphasis on agreesiveness or cage control, those things are fine when there are no strikes To be judged.
Abrtitans - Rewrite the rules and explain to the judges that a one stuffed takedown is equal to a takedown on their score cards.I agree

It's funny to hear people trying to solve this crazy puzzler when Pride actually had it figured out like 16 yrs ago. The aggressive, trying to finish guy who does more damage wins.
Yellow cards and knees and kicks to downed opponents as well.
Aggression being perhaps THE chief component would not allow a takedown with no damage or advancement to garner points. As a matter of fact, the guy on the bottom busting up Mr. Wrestlefuck with elbows would (deservedly) win the round.
Pride had its flaws but the rule set was not one of them.
