Was Barnett a World champ...

In no-gi jiu jitsu at the black belt level?
Was it the Mundials?
Or am I imagining this being posted somewhere?

from his wiki:

Submission grappling:

International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation
2009 World No Gi Jiu-Jitsu Championship Black Belt Gold Medalist

International Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Federation
Gracie US Nationals 2010 – 206 + lbs. / Advanced No-Gi: 1st place

Wiki isn't a real reliable source IMO, it can be edited and added to. Unless I misunderstood somewhere down the line. Phone Post

Well yes of course it can be ....but I don't think anyone has gone in there to add these particular false titles to Barnett's resume.

....though I'm sure some UG will now go into it and add a new entry declaring him to be 2011 Ms America or something similar.

I remember him winning a couple around this time, it was talked about in detail here. Specifically it was discussed how he was given a BJJ blackbelt so he could enter these tournaments, which had that as a requirement. It was odd in Barnett's case because he could be so anti-BJJ and so pro 'catch wrestling'.

Yes, he was 2009 No-Gi World Champion..

i beleive was also the heavyweight champion in the fledgling ufc-brand mma. they pick and choose when hormonal assistance is considered a bad thing, otherwise the word 'legend' would be attatched to his name (no offense to glamcock.)
