Izzy hasn’t been breaking a sweat in his fights yet here comes a guy from another sport and takes him out. First we have Anderson Silva losing to a Disney Channel kid now a kickboxer destroying the MW GOAT in Izzy.
I think it’s clear that you should train one discipline throughout your youth and get really good at it before transitioning to MMA.
Kickboxer vs kickboxer. What did you expect?
Dude, you joined this forum with your new screen name 3 weeks ago, and you have a dude with abs as your profile pic. Now this? You need too start everything over again and pretend none of this ever happened…
Its almost like stylistic match ups are a thing.
None of these people are real ‘mixed martial artists’ in the sense of chaining everything together seamlessly into one style. The sport is still largely a free for all for people who are either jacks of all trades or specialists who focus only on defense in other areas.
When you get the rare guy that actually mixes - DJ, prime Cruz, peak GSP, early Fedor - they’re almost unbeatable.
Wouldn’t you think Izzy would have the advantage in the sport he’s been so successful in though?
That’s why I’ve said that GSP was the first true Mixed Martial Artist in the UFC, and Khabib is the one who mastered it
Styles make fights. Khamzat or Bo Nickel most likely ruin Perreira
Hes been successful as an elite kickboxer with defensive grappling skills, forcing guys who arent as good at him at striking to stand with him. This was a totally different challenge. One he probably wouldnt have had to face if Alex had had to make his way to a title shot the normal way. Styles make fights.
Alex has been training MMA since 2016
Yeah Izzy basically uses guys like Rob and Brunson to take out future challengers for him
This is a pretty bold statement.
Also Cannoneir was putting punches on him in his last fight. I’m absolutely not shocked he got KO’d by Alex.
Being Bobby Knuckles kryptonite will go down as Izzy’s greatest accomplishment.
The best example I’ve seen is Cruz coming back after basically 4 years of nothing but surgeries and beating the champion of an elite division. That’s next level shit. If healthy I’m confident he would be considered a top 3 GOAT.
The Cejudo loss kind of puts a damper on Cruz’ legacy but I agree Cruz held a nice, clean record for quite a while
Middleweight DC beats them both in the same night, NOW
Cruz is more of a “what could have been”. He was out injured for like 7 years all together. Never reached his potential. It’s a credit to the effectiveness of the style I mentioned earlier that he was still very good despite the broken down body.
OP is a noob
It proves that styles make fights. Let’s see how long Pereira lasts.
