Watched UFN With Tuf Noobs And It Sucked

I was at my place when my girlfriend's brother comes over with a bunch of other people and everyone is having a good time drinking a few beers.

These three dudes who were in the Army(two of which were fat asses) were watching the fights as I was and I just listened to their conversation.

According to them Wanderlei hasn't fought since he lost to Chuck in the second round by a cut.

Anderson Silva has lost in the UFC and it was when "that one guy" broke his arm in half.

Thought it was bullshit James Irvin was fighting for the title.

Forrest Griffin would tear Anderson Silva apart and it wouldn't even be much of a fight.

Rampage vs Forrest was a boring ass fight because no one got knocked out.

I ended up leaving and watching the rest of the fights in my basement because I couldn't stand listening to them scream at each other at who the best fighter is.

To all TUF Noobs please educate yourselves or stop watching. You make it even worse for fans like me.

Did anyone else have any experiences like I did Saturday night?

That shit is frustrating man.

been there.

So instead of shedding some light, you just sat there at got mad about it and left?

Its been my experience that when I have my MMA friends over for a PPV that if they bring a friend, they usually dont talk about MMA,but rather drink beer and socialize.

I stop those people in their tracks

at first site of such" TUF noobs" I correct them

like the time (only time...bad expirience) I went to watch the UFC at hooters. Some schmuck behind me kept yelling armbar every time the guy went for a Kimura/keylock. He was istting with a group of friends and he was the "expert". I turned to him and kindly explained that it was in fact a keylock/kimura.

he was pissed at me for embarassing him in front of his friends...but his loss. hopefully it taught him not to be a dumbass

MMA is weird because it is one of those things that most guys feel like they NEED to know a little about to feel secure in their manhood.  That inevitably leads to copius amounts of bullshit being spouted by every single poser every time their is live MMA on.

 You need new MMA friends

There is a difference in a kimura and a keylock/americana.

Mac Cack Cow - sorry bub, i was too busy watching Affliction. like a true MMA fan.
Aren't you glad you said that? Now everyone knows you're the man.

^ You're right, there is. But even my coach, who has been in the game a long time mixes 'em up. I don't really think he gives a shit, either.

A keylock or americana is over your head, and a kimura is behind your back.

mac cack cow.. so you are a true mma fan just because you watched affliction... um no you are not. how did you find mma.tv? answer tha tquestion for me. i am just curious..

i am also curious as to what makes someone a true mma fan.. i would consider myself a true fan but i might be wrong. maybe because i chose to watch the ufc , the show that was displaying fights that i was more interested in. maybe beause i chose to watch one of he best MW in the world fight at 205 that makes me a poser.

affliction did not have a fight that i cared to see, they had fighters that i have seen fight a dozen times and match ups that i did not care about. fedor beating tim sylvia was no big accomplishment for him and wasnt a fight i was willing to pay to watch. so with that said congragulations are in order to you thank you mr. mac cack cow for supporting affliction like a true mma fan, the mma community is forever indebted to you sir!

J Macc 01 - ^ You're right, there is. But even my coach, who has been in the game a long time mixes 'em up. I don't really think he gives a shit, either.

Please post the name of your "coach" - who doesn't know the incredibly important difference between an americana and a kimura, and apparently feels comfortable in his ignorance - so that other grappling novices can learn from your mistake(s) and avoid training with him.

str8fighter (LMAO -MS) - fedor beating tim sylvia was no big accomplishment for him

LOL, what about Anderson Silva vs. JAMES IRVIN?

 I don't mind TUF noobs

I just hate that they all have to talk like they're some expert

that shit is annoying

crowbar -  There is a difference in a kimura and a keylock/americana.

I am well aware...but he was transitioning to both and the guy yelled armbar for both

MikeD - So instead of shedding some light, you just sat there at got mad about it and left?

My noob friends are actually getting better, I persuaded them to watch Affliction instead of Fight Night

they enjoyed the show...but hated the Ring (understandable, these complaints came during the babalu fight) the only annoying thing was myself having to sound like an MMA encyclopedia to explain who just about every fighter was.

one guy did say after the Fedor fight...."damn that guy looked like houston alexander"....other than that it was ok.

Yes, you have to watch the encyclopedia talk too. Sometimes I get carried away and tell people what the fighters eat for dinner.

My friends are TUF newbs. But they also dont say stupid shit like that and act like they are experts on the sport. They just watch it to have fun.

Hell I'm a TUF newb myselfto some people. But I've watch enough MMA in the last year and a half to last most people 10 years.

I catch myself doing this as well.
