What about Bowles and Torres?

and here comes the complaints about the money in 5...4...3...2...1....

Torres made $26,000, he woulda made $52k if he won.

Bowles made $9k + $9k win bonus, + $10k KOTN bonus for $28k total

I really hope the UFC absorbs the WEC.

i'm guessing lc davis and vasquez didn't get their affliction contracts honored because im sure affliction would pay more than that

They sure don't make much.

Pretty cheap payroll, I wonder if they are having problems.

I recall previous WEC's having better payrolls then that, but then that was with the likes of a Condit, Faber and Filho.

This wasn't as big a card as last time which had Brown, Faber, and Pulver all fighting on it. Pulver was getting the biggest payday around then.

If people are that depressed and upset about fighter pay, they shouldn't be watching WEC or fighting period.

Embarrassing.....

you guys do know that zuffa owns both companies right???? I think zuffa is doing juuuuuuuuuuuuust fine

WEC has imo some of the best match up in MMA. All of the guys in the WEC fight their hearts out. I wish the fighters got paid better, they deserve it.

our Icon Sport main event fighters used to make more than any of these guys years ago....and we were just a local show supported only by ticekt revenue collected at the gate. no TV deal. no wealthy ownership back then. but if the WEC fighters agree to these deals, you cant blame the WEC. like the old saying goes, "a fighter is only worth what he negotiates." or something like that.

just for the record, i'm a big fan of the WEC...but i would like to see the fighters get a slightly larger piece of the pie.

joe silva would have offered them $125k plus the win bonus.....

You realize of course that each organization is its own entity right? lol wow. the WEC could be juuuuuuuuuust not fine. Assuming the UFC is there to pick up slack is silly

i wonder what the VS network contributes, in addition to valuable TV time?

production costs? as a former promoter, i can say that this was always one of the biggest expenses. if WEC is not paying for production, that should free up some space in the budget.

reduced venue rental expense? because the events air on VS, they may be able to reduce the rental by doing a partial trade deal with venue. for instance, Hard Rock may cut them a deal in exchange for live-line promos, exterior shots of casino, etc. when i was promoting the venue rental was always one of the biggest expense, second only to payroll.

licensing agreement? i have no clue how much the WEC is paid by VS for the rights to the broadcast. anyone know? i imagine its nothing too large, but a great deal none the less.

anything else?

Brian has some great sponsors as well.

Those guys should feel lucky they have a show where little people can fight. The casual fan has no interest watching guys that weigh less than the average american woman fight.

Both Brian and Miguel are making plenty of money from their sponsors.
