He has NOT fought ANY of the following top contenders: Boetsch, Belcher, Bisping, Rockhold, Lombard...ok he looked great against Munoz, but personally I want to see him beat one of these top guys before he gets Anderson, plus he's not known to the casual/mainstream/moderate fan enough yet so his fight won't sell big PPV's...I think Belcher should get a shot if he beats Okami convincingly

Regardless he's coming off two top 10 wins. This will be his third. Can't think of too many guys with 3 top 10 wins in a row that don't get title shots.
I don't think he should get it if Anderson wants to wrap up his career a different way, but he certainly deserves it. Especially when compared to title challengers as of late.
If desent grappling and half ass striking was all it takes to beat silva he would be 0-16 in the UFC not the other way around
well, now that he's injured and out he needs to win a title eliminator before he faces anderson.

Doctor NPD - Maia was top 10 when Weidman beat him... on a weeks notice. And Munoz was supposed to fight for #1 contender status before getting injured. Then he returned and was KOed brutally by Weidman. Far more relevant than a win over Rockhold or Belcher who has 0 top 10 wins.
Belcher beats everyone they put in front of him, plus he can stand w Anderson
