Weidman Suspended for Leg injuries Following L in Boston

Massachusetts Office of Public Safety and Inspections recently released its list of medical suspensions for those fighters competing in the UFC 292 lineup earlier this month (Sat., Aug. 19, 2023) from inside TD Garden in Boston, with multiple athletes drawing a wide range of suspensions, according to MMA Fighting.

That includes bantamweight headliner Aljamain Sterling, who will be sidelined for 30 days (with 45 days no contact) for a face laceration suffered in defeat to Sean O’Malley. In addition, “hobbled” ex-middleweight champion Chris Weidman is benched indefinitely and will require orthopedic clearance to return to action.

Assuming he doesn’t listen to this heartfelt plea from UFC President Dana White.
Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.

I think Chris should keep fighting

He won’t retire. He will end up doing even more damgage to himself.

He made something like $450K for that loss.

He shouldn’t be allowed in the ufc. He’s shop worn, it’s over. Stop giving fights to these old beat up fighters who haven’t evolved with the sport. They go in and take a beating for a paycheck. I won’t support that

He’s still my boy

He pretty much had to do it after starting the ESPN documentary.

That’s still his leg

Man, what a dick, Tavares. Cheap ass kicks to his hurt legs. Almost as sad as desprate Overeem, kneeing Brock in his stomach aids.

You have to understand. To be an MMA fighter, you have to lack a conscience. Compassion has no real place in the cage. You are there to win and win at all costs.

With that being said, Weidman should retire.

If he gets 500k for a fight, he will fight until his leg falls off

Fuck that nonsense. They are professional fighters. They know what theyre agreeing to when they sign the contract. If you don’t target your opponent’s weakness(es) in a prize fight, you are a fool.

He’s not even worth 50k anymore. He should go find a new path. Go get his ass beat in bare knuckle. I’d watch. Mma? No thanks

I think he’s one of the least likeable mma fighters of all time. I don’t see how he has any value in the ufc. It takes a real d bag for me to root for Luke Rockhold to beat up. I made nice money on Rockhold that night.

He’s had a lot of injuries for a guy with only 22 fights. Wasn’t he coming off surgery before the Silva match?
