I think it would be a very interesting matchup. Weidman definately has more tools to finish the fight once it hits the mat than Chael did. I would still pick Anderson though.

i wouldnt be shocked if this happened...weidman is for reals....a very strong wrestler + bjj blackbelt = anderson's nightmare matchup...chael had good wrestling but poor subs...weidman seemed very very dangerous on top

Weidman is eager to be irrelevant in his weight division I guess. He wouldn't beat Anderson. He's never fought anyone that good. In particular he's never fought anyone that can take his very best repeatedly, but still find a way out. He's never fought someone that uses difficult moves as his "regular" moves. He's never fought multiple former or present world champions.
He 'aint ready for anything except an ass whomping.
Maybe when Anderson is done reacting the Matrix some of these other guys can take a swing at holding the best for 1 or 2 defenses at a time.

Yea, cause the only guy in that division who fits that's criteria fully is Anderson Silva. So therefore none of Anderson's previous UFC opponents have faced anyone like that before Anderson because there is no one else like that. Anderson is pretty much one of a kind.
