You act like the championship is more important than zuffa being in the business of making money.

I agree that Weidman deserves serious champ cash at this point in his career.
That said, it's hilarious how when the pay issue comes up people love to pull arbitrary numbers out of their ass. 100k champ bonus! Weidman deserves a million dollars! No one knows anything about the books, so it's utterly pointless and unproductive to make up numbers.
Rigondeaux a promising undefeated boxer made over 700K for winning his fight vs Nonito Donaire, the guy considered the number 1 in his weight.
That fight wasnt even on PPV, and Rigondeaux is known amongst boxing hardcores for not having any pull with a wide audience.
Silva vs Weidman was being projected saturday by the UFC at over 800k buys and you are going to tell me the challenger didnt deserve at least Rigondeaux type money??
Yes, i say again Weidman should have won a million bucks for that fight.

Well it should be higher but 100k, I know is much more than the current New Champ Bonus...0... But I'm pro fighter and would like to see these guys get paid like professionals not like little paper boys.
Well, the guy is only starting his legacy.
For the rematch he should get a much bigger payday.
I'm sure Weidman made some serious money.... Not to mention he is in the best spit possible for a new contract, and will make a stupid amount of money on the rematch.
to be a contender for any championship fight and only get 24k if you lose, is in fact fukn bullshit!!!!! theres no 2 ways about it... if those numbers are accurate, its shit!!!
he still has to pay taxes, trainers, and other misc expenses...
Got Reach - Get the fuck out of here about stuff you don't even know about. You have no idea how much he made. This X 100

If Weidman complains about his pay then he is one of the guys that don’t matter.
Fighters should be cheap motherf@$%ers.
luctaro -SupesUp - Ufc pay is the best topic next to fallon fox.![]()
what if UFC hires Fallon and we get to talk about Fallon Fox pay
Booooooooom.
I don't even knowwwww.

we know how you feel about making money, you stuck up for LI and Marcos Avellan
1) the stated pay was as per his contract
2) as a headliner a ppv title match, he will earn a ppv cut
You do realize most of a fighters pay is not disclosed? Fighters want it this way so 'friends' don't come out of the woodwork and ask them for a handout...

I did? I never met with, worked with or had anything to do with them.
My comment was sarcastic trying to say that Zuffa cares about making money and the championship belt is not important at all to them which can be seen with several examples such as the "interim" titles.
My god guy, do a fucking search before creating these threads. Did you not see the threads talking about how Dana offered Weidman the option to re-negotiate a new contract before this fight (which was his last fight on his contract)? Chris said no, he would rather re-negotiate after the fight. I give him big props for that, it was risky but it'll pay off, beating the GOAT will get him a fat new contract.
Additionally, I'm sure he gets a cut of the PPV buys like a lot of the title fighters get (why do you think Chael does so much to hype his fights).
I'm pretty sure we'll all soon be talking about how come fighters aren't making "Chris Weidman Money".
I'll now sit back and await your "shill" and "zombie" retorts.
Weidman just re-signed today. 5 fights 30k each and a 2003 Ford F-150. Dana hooked him up nice

he's getting a new contract today which likely comes with a big bonus... dont waste you're tears on weidman... he's in as about as good a spot as you can be in,
Didnt Dana said in Port Fight Scrum his deal had already been negotiated before this fight?
He was not in his last fight as initially reported according to the dana.
no, somebody asked Dana if weidman's bet paid off because he did the same thing as roy. (turned down a new contract) and dana said weidman wasnt doing the same thing.
Roy wanted to go out on a win and get bellator and zuffa in a bidding war.
Weidman didnt want to negotiate a new contract until after he beat Anderson.
Weidman is now getting a new contract which likely includes a significant bonus (for last nights fight which i would say will be at least 250k dollars).and ppv points, which likely means he'll make more than a million dollars in the rematch.
his new contract will probably be around 120k show and 120k win, a signing bonus of around 250k (which is essentially his bonus for headlining against anderson for UFC 162) and ppv on future fights as long as he's fighting for the title.
with the new contract, and amount of ppv buys expected for the rematch, weidman is a millionaire. even if chris loses the rematch, as long as he can eventually get a rubbermatch the guy stands to make a shit load of money.
If Chris wins... he's set because if Anderson cant beat him it's gonna be tough for anyone else, so he's gonna be busy cashing bigger and bigger checks while rolling through the MW division.
chis gambled and won he is going to get paid
Did Dana kind of infer that he signed a new deal because his home flooded? Maybe it included a Sandy bonus?

I rewatched the scrum and you are right he doesnt deny that he is at the end of the contract he just says Chris didnt "gamble"
Perhaps a renegotiation is in his future...
Zuffa takes care of their champions. He'll get an adjustment.
That's what he's getting paid and THAT'S IT! Period! End of story And he had better be a cheap mother fucker with that 24 24
