What are vitaman pills made of?

I see lot of vitamins in bottles and often wonder what is inside them. Do they extract it from food, or just include food that is high in a certain vitamin/mineral?

Could eating Total ceral be considered a multi-vitamin?

they extract the vitamins from unused captain crunch cereal. I would imagine they are made chemically, but I am not sure

Vitamins are grown on a Vitamin tree.... Sorry

Vitamins (the pills) are concentrated extract from either natural or artificial sources. They add bonding agents so that everything sticks together in pill form, and then add color/flavoring.

the fda does not regulate supplements so companies can stiff you on ingrediants(amounts), quality of manufacture(digestibility, amounts of ACTIVE ingrediants) just imagine buying a leather coat straight off the cow.
