That’s no breaking news. I think most those pills and creams work because they create an inflammatory response. Not saying it’s good for you or me. Just saying it’s what I do right now that I’m getting back into grappling and overcome the introductory pain. Some suggest cannabis. I could suggest alcohol. It numbs the pain too. Or opiodes, you’ll never tap to an armbar ever again!
My arms were usually dead all the time because in the gi i relied too much on gripping the other person gi. Just did less gripping and the pain went away
I just tried your suggestion and didn’t go to practice and I’m free of pain! Hallelujah!
I tried CBD for about 6 months and noticed zero difference.
IN for suggestions. My knees and ankles are sore as shit all the time. If I think about it more, so are my fingers. 12 years in the gi and now kickboxing. Just turned 39. I am turning into a constantly sore old man. Walking down the stairs in the morning becomes more of a pain filled journey with each passing day.
I do all of this. I bought special balls of varying softness to roll on, I have a theragun (rarely use), and foam rollers. I mix that in with stretching. That all helps with muscle and back pain, but aching joints is different. Can’t roll that out and stretching doesn’t seem to help. It is a dull aching pain. I’d like it to go away.
Marijuana and Marijuana accessories
There’s plenty of good advice on here already, but on top of that I would suggest trying out either Joint mobility by Steve Maxwell, or essential somatics by Martha Peterson.
I do a mix of these for 5-10 minutes first thing in the morning, just moving no stretching or foam rollers, and it’s made more difference to my mobility and fluidness (for want of a better word) than anything else.
Tobacco and alcohol, or heavy weights or no weights but full amplitude
CBD cream
Glucosamine
Does the glucosamine affect the tendons/ligaments or bone to bone?
I feel 0 benefit other than nightmares and waking up at like 3am after sleeping like a log. I know it works for a lot of people but not my supp of choice.
This is good shit plus a strong fish oil
Onnit makes a strontium supplement my old man swears by. Stron bone and joint
I should mention that I legit never stretch. If I’m forced to as a part of class I will. But I’ve always hated it and I’m super tight because of it. Also, had shoulder surgery in December.
I’ve read CBD doesn’t work for everyone the same. Factors like metabolism, lack of receptors, etc., can play a factor.
