What makes a great chin? Could it be personality?

UpperdoG - Everyone feels pain. Not everyone reacts to it the same. Some people cry out and look for an escape, others channel it and find strength.

Conditioning is the word of the day. Purely reactional

Dudes with big heads can take a harder shot though. Just saying.

Tommy was stopped 3 times in his 50 plus fight career. It's not like he was the most glass jawed guy.

Bas Rutten has always said conditioning is a huge part of recover. Tommy used to just about live in a bar. He partook in a lot of partying, drinking and drugs. His gas tank did fail him so maybe Bas is right.

Another thing is Tommy had over 350 amateur fights. He would enter tough man competitions as young as 13. Then sparring. That's a lot of getting hit in the head. He might've had a good chin at some point.

Boxing will always have exceptions, really just everything in general but I do think he has a point. With the size of a fighters head. Take Roberto Duran for example,he looks like a god damn bobblehead.

Iron Chinned fighters tend to have larger broader more squared heads. From what I've seen at least. That Mirko Cro Cop type head seems to be shaky Phone Post 3.0
