She was all over the BJJ scene in the early 2000’s even learned Portuguese if I remember correctly and used to post on here. Then disappeared, doesn’t seem to have social media, disappeared from the jiujitsu world as far as I know. What happened? She was a pioneer in women’s jiujitsu and is only in her 30s any time I see a female grappling match she always pops into my head I don’t know why.
Wasn’t she in medical school back then as well?
Yes, apparently she’s a neurologist.
Did some sloothing and found a video from SBG Alabama 4 years ago where she did an interview and talks about how she’s quit BJJ like 7 times now.
Also found this, I guess she’s just doing the doctor thing up in Arkansas.
She was a horrible referee
No surprise she didn’t make it…
The world of pajama grappling is challenging and takes tenacity.
Many people run off to be doctors, or whatever.
It’s sad to see, though understandable that many choose the easy path. --Heck some days I too fantasize about escaping to be a board-certified Neurologist. I mean, life on easy street sounds good, sometimes. But… I know that in just a few more years I’m due for another small strip of athletic tape on my belt, and I will never accomplish that if I quit!
OSS.
Man I haven’t been able to get on the OG in forever. First post I see is from Master Shen.
