When Dana questions a fighters “will” or “desire” to agree to a fight

He’s not questioning heart, he’s saying they’re not willing to take a fuck you lowball offer, whereas guys like gaethje and chandler are.

That guy who retired a few months ago in his prime pretty much said as much. Dumb guys are constantly undercutting each other for “opportunity” fights hoping they’ll score a main event or, even better, a conor fight.

Why is it that they’re dumb, but when it’s someone like Cowboy then he’s a warrior and a company man in a good way? If the money is right for you thn yes, it can be a good opportunity that launches you into the main event. Chael made a career off this.

But it’s hurting all of them in the long run. They’re hurting each other’s bargaining power and by proxy their own as well. It’s like they’re all standing in a circle fucking the next guy while simultaneously getting fucked.

You definitely have a point. In a perfect world the fighter would form a union and be able to work towards making changes and dictating terms for them all to benefit from. They will never do that though for several reasons and so it’s this dog eat dog battle between them. Its frustrating to watch.

When I read the article on MMAJunkie about Dana questioning whether or not Kayla Harrison was ready for the UFC, my first thought was “Well, that’s one chick he hasn’t slept with at least.”
