The card was rather lackluster anyways, after the Brazil event and Calgary, this will hopefully force them to start making better quality depth events.
When you lose the Co-main and the Main event, theres no chance you can charge people PPV $ for that weak stuff.
UFC on FOX and UFC152 are going to be great, im not upset in the least, I dont want to see the Jones/Sonnen mis-match...
Fold up shop, that event was very weak, even with Jones/Sonnen, it was worth nowhere near 55$.

Nevada regs require that the promoter provide a refund option to ticket holders. That is the real reason that the event was cancelled. This fact has been lost in the conversation here and is the only reason that they didn't go ahead with, say, Belfort vs Sonnen and pocket with the gate revenue like they did at 149 in Calgary. They'll be under no such constaints at the new 151 in Toronto should any further changes to the main event happen. Weak regulatory region in Toronto.
No, Jones/Sonnen would have been epic, and Chael would have talked the card up to 500k+ buys in just under a week because he's a huge draw (even though there's no proof of that because he's never headlined a PPV card without Silva).

What's comical is that DW essentially admitted that Zuffa was trying to sell the fans a shit sandwich when he called Sonnen an out of shape MW. This is supposed to be one of the premier sports leagues in the world and you're going to try to sell the fans a match between one of the sport's best fighters and a guy who hasn't been training?
The whole thing was shit. They gambled on the card, and it blew up in their faces.
