Where did Shogun train?

There are two versions of Shogun. The one who trains at home and doesn’t look great & the one who trains at Kings & knocks heads off.

He is arguably the GOAT LHW for being the best in 2 different generations of MMA. Pride Tourney & ending the Machida era

It doesn't matter. Same thing happens either way.

Doesn't matter. He doesn't have anything left to prove, I don't know why he continues to fight. He should have retired on the 3 fight win streak

He didn’t train, isn’t it obvious…

It does matter he performs completely different when he trains at Kings MMA. Raphael did a lot for Shogun in terms of keeping his mind sharp.

I don’t think he really trained that hard myself and probably trained at home. Where his weakness is

There’s a different level of athletes walking into the cage now. He’s shot as a fighter and shouldn’t be ranked. Not hating he’s my favorite fighter but training at Kings would have made no difference at this stage of his career.

He’s old, slow and beaten down. Time to hang em up

Dude, he is old. These battles dont leave these guys in good shape, it's not uncommon. He has had a ton of injuries and taken some serious damage in fights (thanks a lot hendo). Once you see older fighters pulling their punches , that hesitation is not a good sign. Young shogun could had stayed at home and wrecked many opponents . This shogun is weathered and worn . I've already seen it happen to several of my favorite fighters.

Too many miles on him. He’s been in knock down, drag out wars since day 1. That freak arm injury in Pride put a permanent dent in his armor. He still accomplished so much after that, but there’s a price for going to war over and over.

how i feel whenever Shogun gets near any mountain top of success

He looked shook as fuck walking to the octagon

I’m sure the fear really got to him after 30+ fights across the world against monsters of all sizes.

This one last one really shook him…

He trained with Freddie Roach a few years back, and Freddie said that Shogun was pulling all of his punches and never learned how to properly generate power in his punches. Freddie has a lot of great things to say about Anderson, BJ, GSP, Arlovski, and the other MMA fighters who train with him, but he was really critical of Shogun.

He had a knee injury last september??....im pretty sure between then and now isnt nearly enough time to recover especially at his age.

Looked like her trained with his 5 year old sister and grandmother... sucks because he is in my top 5 of all time favorites and was really hoping he would win. But i have to give up hope at this point. He is too worn down from years of battle.

I think it would have made a huge difference.

Training and breaking the fight down with top notch team is necessary. Great coaches get you mind on track.

Shogun looked like he had no confidence during the fight intros. Never looked towards Smith once.

He walked slowly towards smith once the fight started. I knew he was getting knocked out just by his vibe.

he traned by doing laps from the couch to the fridge

I don't think he lost because he didn't train or because where he trained - he lost because his body is shot and he's way past his prime. Smith is a bad dude and that can't be ignored either.

Kings is a strange gym from the outside.

It seems very much that when guys go there to train they start to win, but then they leave for some reason?

Do they take a huge cut of your purse or something? Untraceable super steroids?

Shogun, Ellenburger, and many others all seem to have a similar trajectory.
