Which UFC Lightweights should go to Featherweight?

I think Kurt Pellegrino, Clay Guida, and Mac Danzig should all consider a drop to featherweight. I think that Guida especially could do really well in the division.

Have any UFC lightweights expressed and interest in moving down?

What other fighters could do well at featherweight and not have to difficult of a weight cut.

Frankie could make the cut, but he is just fine at lightweight obviously.
The thing to remember is even though it is a great advantage to cut and be the bigger guy, it is also just a big of an advantage to not be worn out and depleated by the weight cut.
Some guys are use to it and can manage no problem, but other guys fight better when they dont cut quite as much weight.
So even though it may be possible for some of these guys to make the cut, it may not be in their best interest.

Do you have any clue how big those guys you mentioned are????? Clay? Seriously?

I know that just because a fighter can make a weight It does not necessarily mean that he should. But sometimes a move down in weight can really help a fighters career. For example, Cole Miller is a solid Lightweight fighter, but if he were to move down a weightclass I'm confident he could get a title shot. He would enjoy a very impressive reach advantage and he would not have as much of a strength disadvantage at FW as he would against the biggest UFC LW fighters.

Tyson Griffin?

Spencer Fisher

BJ ;p

I think we are all waiting for a Edgar/Aldo superfight down the line if they remain champ.

Sure but would he be at 100% physically?
If we use this rational, Kendall Grove would make a great lightweight, his reach would baffle everyone in the division.
It's not always the attributes they can bring to the table, its whether or not their body performs better at a certain weight.

Guida's not big hes like 5'7

No, but he's a freaking huge 155 pounder.

I think Clay trying to drop to 145 would zap him.

His height has nothing to do with it.
Shit Jeff Monson is 5'9" and he's just now cutting to LHW.
It's about the frame of your body and how much weight it genetically carries. People have different body frames and that is what determines weight class more than just height, though that does play a factor.

I don't cut much to make 155...I don't do any sauna at all 145 could be done with ease and it's what I fought at before going on Tuf then to the UFC. I've def considered the drop Phone Post

Ye true he is fairly built..

I'd fancy Dos Ajos, Person and Siver to drop down..see how Siver fares against GSot first....

Cole you would be a beast at 145, but a win against Wiman and your right in the mix!

Im sure you probably stayed at 55 because the UFC didnt have a 45, so Im sure that played a big part in your decision, but do you feel like you would were at peak shape when you had to cut to 45 or do you think it slightly hindered your performance at all?

Clay isn't a big 155er. I'm 5'7, 170 and he's at least a little bit smaller than me. Guys like Sherk and Tibau are much bigger.

hindered my performance?...ill say it again, i dont cut hardly anything to fight at 155. id feel bigger and stronger at 145 i think.

That answers my question.
Good luck if you decide to go down to FW....
Be careful though, the way Dana's been going on about teamates fighting ea.other lately he might want family members to fight ea.other too! ;)

do you really think fighting Jose Aldo is that atttractive of an option?

Big thanks to Cole Miller for throwing in his two cents.
