Ok so not really but a lot of people have taken the "Who gives a fuck about pressers" attitude in light of the UFC 137 situation
I Present to you: Strikeforce Barnett Vs Kharitonov
TWO great Heavyweight Fights in a Grand Prix
a Middle Weight Title fight
King Mo Vs Roger Gracier
Card looks sick:
Pre-Lims were sick, King MO with Vicious KO Over Gracie. Cormier with Big KO over Bigfoot. Healey with a Submission. 5 Round War with Middleweight changing hands.
annnnnd
less then 2000 people in the audience and shitty sell rate.
Fights are awesome but when you are a company you need to first make money. Your Responsibilities are:
#1. Make Money
#2. Provide a Good Product
#3. Make Money
#4. Be Consistent
#5. Make Money
Zuffa barely promoted this event, And its a fair comparisson now because Zuffa owns both Strikeforce and the UFC.
Point is this is a GREAT Card with GREAT Fights and it was not PROMOTED Heavily enough.
Zuffa's Hype machine and a few "PRESSERS" would get some needed and deserved attention to some good fighters and great fights.
And Thats Why Pressers and Promotion are important. These guys are putting on GREAT Fights.
And far too few people will see them.
Me thinks personally the UFC Just kinda wants SF to die off. Dana White wants nothing to do with it, and really he is a big part of the hype machine for the UFC.
UFC will pick off the Jacare's Rockholds, King Mo's and Cormier's and let the rest they don't want fade away
This thread is a reference to ufc 137 so i dont understand how its not a ufc 137 thread.
because its mostly about the lack of promotion to the Strikeforce event not really about UFC 137 just highlighting what promotion can really do
UFC has sold great numbers on some shitty cards that turned out to be shittier live events
SF barely sold a great card which is panning out into an awesome event
I was going to read this, then I decided to actually watch the SF GP. But thanks anyway. smh.
you can do both ;)
