Who trains here and why did you start?

When I was younger I got beat up by a taller/bigger kid. He actually did a good job of keeping me away with a 1-2. I started training kickboxing and my only goal was to deal with the lanky guys and get inside without taking too much damage.

How about you?

Me, that is to say mer. I always wanted to be rid of all accountability and sit down to pee.

Oh wait, I misread - thought thread title said Who’s TRANS here and why did you start…

My apologies - as you were!

I don’t train anymore .I’m a lazy cunt. When I started it was after I left the military. My cousin’s were teasing me for carrying a bit of weight. (My cousin’s were like brothers… no holds barred)

I can safely say that BJj helped me one time to break some cunts grip, then I smacked him and had to go to court and get told off.

Particularly cuz of GSP, Nick Diaz, Roy Jones, Bhops, The Spider, their fighting styles, mentality and work ethic
Been training boxing/weight lifting/running on my own (from age12) then joined some boxing club for a few years, changed towns and quitted the club, still doing lots of stuff on my own or with few friends, participated in a few triathlons, nothing serious but always ready lol

going for ~16years and counting

Have you fought any ammy or pro stuff, clutch?

I was taking my Boxercise training pretty seriously until I started a new job which clashed with my training schedule.

No. No sanctioned stuff. Just streetbeefs. I did however train at syndicate for a while. I would go to the muay thai class everyday after work taught by chaz. I never made to the invite only class though. Then moved queen creek and i went power mma for a while but they closed. Went to the muay thai class there taught by danny brandt. He opened his own place after power closed but i started having kids and just never could get things under control enough to have enough time and money at the same time to be a solid member of a reputable gym. Then i found streetbeefs and the rest is history. I train some at home in my garage. I get more thorough when i know i have a SBWC event comin but its tough because i never really networked at the gyms so the only training partners i have are average joes from work. Which are cool, and im glad they help me but i need to be surrounded by people that are solidly better than me and just dont have the time or money to offer for that.

I did some judo in the eighties, progressed to kickboxing and a bit of mma on and off during the years and quit about 5 years ago when I got headkicked by a heavyweight. It tore my retina.
Now I mostly cycle. And do some heavybag work at home when I feel like it.

I had to lock my bicycle up in gent on my way too a music festival. I stacked it twice because I was drunk and on drugs so locked it to a post and walked.

I’m thinking of doing some muay Thai. My new job has given me aches in places I didn’t know could ache. I’m not a gym rat so need to start doing something to work out again

How old are you?
