Who wins Ultimate Ultimate 1993 ? ? ?

what season of TUF were these guys on?

rickson beats schultz
karelin beats tyson
nastula beats igor
gokor beats hoost

rickson beats karelin
gokor beats nastula

rickson beats gokor via........ rnc.

If the bottom right was Al "4 touchdowns in one game" Bundy, I would have to go with his blackbelt ass.

If Mike Tyson had 6 months of sprawl training he would win.

Round 1

Rickson vs. Schultz

Schultz, having heard of Rickson's prowess at chokes and arm locks comes out cautiously. Rickson push kicks Schultz, which Schultz is unprepared for and goes for a takedown. Schultz defends and ends in a front headlock position. Schultz is really putting the squeeze on Rickson, but Rickson manages to pull guard. Schultz's legendary toughness keeps him competitive for a bit, but eventually ala Royce/Severn, Rickson gets a triangle.

Tyson vs. Karelin

Karelin, quite aware of Tyson's primary skillset, comes out with his chin tucked and his hands up, as his boxer father taught him. Tyson is tentative, having seen the grappling of the first fight. Tyson backs Karelin up with his bob and weave and delivers a right, which Karelin turns from and catches on his shoulder, gaining the clinch. From there Karelin works Tyson to the mat and punches him into submission.

Nastula vs. Igor

Igor being only 20 has yet to become a rounded fighter and so is unprepared for Nastula's groundwork. Igor lands a glancing shot on Nastula, but Nastula shows good chin and survives to eventually sub Igor.

Gokor vs. Hoost

Again, the common theme here is that in 1993 the importance of grappling ability was not known. Hoost gets taken down and subbed.

Round 2

Karelin vs. Rickson

Rickson is still worn out from his match with Schultz. Karelin, relatively fresh, recognizes Rickson is lacking in his standup ability and attempts to box. He scores some power shots and further tires Rickson by tossing him whenever Rickson attempts to close. After being wobbled, Rickson attempts a flying armbar. He's slammed to the mat. Karelin follows him this time, and Rickson tries to regain his composure but is pounded out.

Nastula vs. Gokor

Nastula by being a superior judoka with better newaza and more physical ability.

Final

Karelin vs. Nastula

Karelin grinds Nastula down and punches him out.

The tournament would have been more interesting if Rickson and Karelin had been on opposite sides, and Rickson had an easier path to the finals.

This is an awesome post.....

By the way, I think Rickson / Karelin are on the same bracket to mimic UFC 1 where Ken / Royce (the favorites) were on the same side bracket...

Karelin no question. I doubt Igor's MMA skills were that great in 1993, otherwise I would pick him.

lol @ Tyson winning that. Not a chance.

it would inevitably be between Rickson and Karelin.

cdiorio13 - By the way though, fess up guys. How many of you honestly don't even know who every single one of those guys are?

oh shut the fuck up with that shit.

This is kind of how I would see it go down. I would love to see a Rickson/Karelin final if they were on opposite sides of the bracket though.

Gracie-Schultz

I say Rickson would either pull guard or get taken down by Schultz. It would be a fairly long battle with Schultz on top for awhile ala Royce vs Severn and Rickson eventually securing the triangle or other choke.

Tyson-Karelin

A little feeling out period with Tyson throwing some punches. Karelin shoots before long gets the takedown and slowly beats Tyson into submission.

Nastula-Vovchanchyn

There is an immediate scramble with Nastula trying to clinch Vovchanchyn. Nastula tries a throw in which Vovchanchyn reverses and ends up in half guard. Igor peppers away with punches eventually passing to side mount where he reigns down vicious knees, elbows and punches for the win.

Hoost-Gokor

What I think would be the quickest fight Gokor immediately takes Hoost down throws some punches gets mount and locks up a kimura within a minute maybe minute and a half.

Semis

Gracie-Karelin

Much like the Schultz fight but longer and bloodier. Karelin gets the takedown right away and is in Gracies guard. Rickson tries numerous sweeps and sub attemps early long but cannot believe the strentgh and tenacity of Karelin. Karelin begins to punch away for about twenty minutes or so. Finally Karelin leaves an arm in and Rickson armbars Karelin for the win.

Vovchanchyn-Gokor

Very entertaining fight. They both meet at the middle and Igor comes out swinging and tags Gokor. Gokor immediately clinches and trips Vovchanchyn to the ground. Not prepared for Igor's strentgh or athleticism he goes for a sloppy Kimura attempt in which Igor easily powers out and reverses position reigning down blows on Gokor. Gokor pushes Igor off him and scrambles back to his feet. Igor again starts swinging wildly at Gokor hitting him with a vicious left, right mid kick that stuns Gokor. Vochanchyn moves in to finish Gokor but Gokor is able to shoot and take Igor down. In side control Gokor mounts Vovchanchyn and starts punishing Igor. Vovchanchyn can do nothing but turn his back where Gokor sinks in the rear naked choke and ends the fight.

I'll write the finals later

Rickson vs Gokor

Vovchanchyn

So far I'm with SCTom - that's almost exactly how I see things happening.

RKing85 - Vovchanchyn

sorry, but mike is a quicker, faster, more powerful, more technical, better defensive and bigger version of igor...

Did some nimrod actually think Igor was going to beat Tyson? This would be a straight up boxing match. Something Mike DID vs something that Igor TRIED. This would look worse than the Igor/Bueno KO.

Maybe not in 1993...but Igor from the late 90's would hand Tyson his ass on the ground.

This tournament was a great idea that took a turn for the worse when people showed they have almost no idea who some of these guys are and what they did.

Karelin "shoots for a takedown" then stays in Ricksons guard????????

He would bodylock Rickson and slam him then clobber him retarded. He's bigger then Brock and he knew how to box his ground and pound would crush skulls.

And not to mention he had 100 pounds on Rickson.......100 pounds. Fight someone 100 pounds less then you and I garuntee you can let them get you in an armbar and still throw them around.

 Bob Sapp disagrees with you.

Uhh, if we're talking a later version of Igor (and not the 1993 one who hadn't even trained grappling yet) - someone needs to see the Igor-Yvel fight (which would be a far more representative example) for how Igor most likely would have approached a Tyson fight.

So does Severn even though it was a traingle.
