He hasn’t fought in an entire year. His last win was over an 0-2 and now retired Masvidal. Prior to that he got a title shot in which he lost. His win prior to that was over an 0-2 and also retired Woodley. His fight prior to that was a title shot where he got finished. Why exactly is this guy deserving of a title shot?

Colby’s only win over an active fighter was 4 years ago and it was an 0-2 Robbie Lawler. Yet somehow this guy is ranked second in the division. What’s going on here? Does he give out blowjobs to the matchmakers?

#3 Khamzat is out until October (?) and might not ever get booked at 170 after Diaz fight weight miss.
#4 and #5 Belal and Gilbert fought last night.
Colby may not be most deserving, but the timing is right anyway. I’d rather see Leon fight Colby than sit idle for another several months waiting for Belal.

Ya i get that. But as has been pointed out in the past and something we all know is that the guy most deserving of the shot doesn’t always get the shot. There are other factors in play.
That likely will never change and there’s nothing any of us can do about it.

These divisions are a fucking joke.
Someone as mid as Leon is champ. Belal another mid fighter is on a 8 fight win streak. Yet Colby who barely fights is getting the next title shot.
Match making and these divisions are regressing
