Football? No thanks Jeff.
Boston TD Gardens is booked Satuday and last weekend too I think, they wanted to fill the schedule with a McGregor fight in Boston and that was the only night left apparently. Still stupid.

Most ridiculous part is the fact that Conors fight will be happening at like 4am on a Monday morning in Ireland.
ANd they'll all be up watching.
He probably has just as many fans stateside if not more, then he does on that Island
All the ones without a job will yes.
So eight people will have to dvr it. Big deal.
It's probably because the Pats looked like hot garbage back when they planned this card.
Makes little sense to have the fights at the same time as the NFL!
Something is getting recorded LOL
BrattMamley - They won't overlap at all. Main card will be on at 10. Game starts at 630. It's actually perfect.Yep, and they will advertise the fight heavily during the Packers-Seahawks game.

Do air times really matter that much now days? Everyone I know has a DVR. I always watch the fights live and record anything else I want to watch that airs at the same time. I really couldn't care less what timeslot they choose or what they are up against.
You might not care. But losing viewers matters to those that air the stuff.
More people would change to the live NFL game than watch the fights live and DVR the game.
I could be wrong, but I thought Nielson changed their ratings system to reflect DVR views as well.
As far as I know you are right that they track DVR. But I believe I read that those were separate or at least distinguishable from live ratings, and that advertisers don't care for those since people skip commercials.
