I do not understand why people keep saying that Silva's knee was illegal. The kneecap (the force of the knee) hit Chael square in the chest and yes maybe the thigh hit Chael's face. However, that thigh grazing the face is no different than someone working on the ground and transitioning from side control to a crucifix and hitting the person with their hip/thigh in that occasion. Lastly, we have let 'champions' get away with all kinds of illegal stuff in the past without being all butthurt. Two examples that come to mind: Jose Aldo's fence grab against Chad Mendes and Brock Lesnar's grab on Frank Mir's throat. Both of these are strictly forbidden by the unified MMA rules, but all the keyboard warriors were not up in arms for either of this 'great' champions.
