We see Dana handing out bonuses for Fight of the Night, KO of the Night, whatever.
Why not just award finishing bonuses for fights that don't go to a DEC? That would encourage fighters to try harder, and punish those who just "lay & pray."

It does, but there is usually just one. OP is saying there should be a finishing bonus even if you finish the fight but don't qualify for an "of the night" bonus.
Dana did this one season in TUF. Fighters got $5k for a KO or a sub, and zilch for going the distance.
I remember thinking FUCK, that's a great idea.
