Gary Shaw concocted the 140 weight class and tried to get Gina to cut down to it. I understand the skepticism and concern that Gina may not make weight, but I don't get the level of bitterness over it.
EDIT: just to clarify, I get the anger of the failure to make weight, I just don't see how that applies to Gina in this particular case. 145 doesn't appear to be a problem for her. That said, she did look a little soft last month in NYC.
If she needs help i can stop by and make her pussy so wet she will drop pounds.
I guess I thought she had fought at 145 before since that seems to be around where she usually weighs in at
vs. Leiticia Pestova - fight was at 135. don't know if she made weight
vs. Rosi Sexton - fight was at 135. Gina came in at 139
vs. Elaina Maxwell - fight was at 150 - YAY she made it!
vs. Julie Kedzie - fight was at 140. Gina was over 2 or 3lbs initially, and for the final weighed in at 141.25
vs Tonya Evinger - fight was at 140 and I think Gina did make weight, but I can't confirm or deny
vs. Kaitlin Young - fight at 140 - Gina came in at 144.5. 3 tries later she makes it
vs. Kelly Kobold - fight at 140 - Gina was over. we all know what happened there. creepy dad, dropped towel...
Joe Doerksen - MR HILLGROVE - It's not my intention to bash the girl, but she's missed weight more times than she's made it. The poster child for women's MMA can't even make weight for a fight... lame.
When fighters sign at a contracted weight it's their obligation to do what they have to in order to make that weight and fight. If you can't, then you're in the wrong weight class.
Has any fighter, male or female, ever missed weight more than Carano?
Unlike some people, I don't care how "hawt" she is... If you can't do your job, then I'm not interested in your career.
Not to mention how horribly disrespectful it is to your opponent.
IF she does make, I will gladly eat my words.
