Just like thread says. She got beat so badly will it tarnish with that loss.
She got dismantled in her prime. How she responds to adversity will determine her legacy. Right now she will always be remembered as the first woman in the UFC but if she will ultimately be remembered as an all time great fighter remains to be seen.
Like her or not (I'm not a fan) but you can't deny her place in WMMA history.
Where is exactly you rank her will differ from person to person, but she's definitely on the list.
Probably be made a Hall of Famer in recognition of her being the UFC's first female champion and the mainstream appeal she brought to the sport.

Well said and I agree
The division is so new and the talent pool is so shallow. Kind of how the men's was to begin with but that hasn't hurt the legacy's of the likes of Royce etc.
She will be remembered as a pioneer even though there are lots of women fighters before her. In twenty years the only stats that will matter will be the UFC's. So, the answer is yes.
What's crazy about her is that i think she is in her own league
There was lesnar, then he faced Cain.
There was rousey, then she faced holm.
Then they both got placed in this other category. Both rousey and lesnar did in fact have talent in some areas, good enough for some great fights. But in the long run they weren't as well-rounded as the UFC would have liked them to be.
Each of them had one nemesis they battled twice with (Tate, Mir)
The only question is, will Ronda come back and redefine herself ? (Unlike Brock)

The only issue with that is that with very few exceptions, lots of all time greats got wrecked a time or two in their prime. With the exception of Jon Jones and Anderson Silva, we've seen basically every champion get destroyed at one time or another. For some reason people are acting like this fight was the worst loss in a title fight they've ever seen, and it was so brutal that she couldn't possibly come back. I'm not a Ronda fan, but I don't get it. We've seen many, many champions get destroyed. This is nothing new.
Randy Couture lost a ton of fights, BJ Penn too. Matt Hughes got beat up by GSP while still relatively young, and GSP got submitted by Hughes, and knocked out by Serra. Being undefeated in MMA for several years is pretty uncommon. We always make determinations on who the all time greats are while they're on top and winning, then they lose a fight and say it was all hype. Every fighter of all time can't be all hype.

No one on earth said every loss means they hater was all hype.
To say you don't think Ronda was a shit ton of hype is insane.
To compare GSP beating Hughes up and getting caught with an armbar or Randy losing fights early on and then later on against some killers to Ronda getting SMASHED for 6 straight minutes in her absolute prime is ridiculous.
Hopefully you're trolling and not this blind and naive.
She'll be remembered as a Royce-like figure. A pioneer that helped paved the way, but essentially a specialist that dominated a weak rookie class.
A decade from now most of the top WMMA stars will be well-rounded fighters with legitimate athletic backgrounds, and very few people will argue that a "prime Ronda" can hang with the current crop.
