I figured it had something to do with that gash from the knee. That thing looked like a vag on his face. I asked Matt if I could eat it out.
I tried all night to get Pat to hand in a score card reading "15 - Love" but to no avail.
You guys take this judging business way too seriously!
ZILLA...I AM ALL FOR COUNTING DAMAGE. I HAVE LOST A DECISION WHERE I DID MORE DAMASGE BUT GOT HELD DOWN. BUT MATT DOMINATED ALL BIT THE LAST HALF OF THE 2ND ROUND, AND HAD HE NOT BEEN IN THE PROCESS OF A TAKEDOWN THE KNEE WOULD NOT HAVE LANDED. SO, I AM IN AGREEMENT WITH LYLES ON YOUR SCORE BEING CONFUSING.
Jimmy I apologize for your loss. I was not judging your fight.
Unless the opponent is brought off his feet and slammed, takedowns by themselves do not score very much. Dragging someone to the ground is not itself enough to win IMPO. You have to land strikes while you are there. Unless your opponent does absolutely nothing back, lay and pray is not an effective way to win a decision. Not saying you can't win that way but your opponent has to be doing almost nothing.
Doesn't matter if Vernon was in the process of a takedown or not. The knee landed, caused signifigant damage, and I had to score it as such.
For the record, I wasn't trying to bash anyone by asking. Because judging is always an issue and so much is subjective, when I see a fight where two judges score all 3 rounds for one guy and another goes 2-1 for the other guy, I'm just naturally curious about how three people arrived at such different opinions.
THE FIRST TAKEDOWN WAS A DOUBLE IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY....THE OTHER TWO WEREN'T TEXTBOOK BUT A TAKEDOWN IS A TAKEDOWN...WHETHER IT IS A TRIP, DRAG, TOSS, ETC. KINDA LIKE A LANDED PUNCH IS A LANDED PUNCH REGARDLESS IF IT IS A HOOK, JAB, OR CROSS...RIGHT?
AND PHELPS DID LITTLE OFF OF HIS BACK TO GET OUT.
I gave Matt the first. Phelps didn't land. I thought the second was very close. Couple of scrambles and not much striking by either. To be honest it was dead even IMPO but Phelps ended up on top at the end so that's all I had to go on. Sometimes that's how it goes. In the third there was only 1 takedown and it was in defense. Matt got rocked and took Casey down to keep his lights on. Matt had control for the rest of the round but just layed there. As a judge that tells me how effective that strike was. I weighed the strike landed and the resultant damage (i.e. 5q qts of blood and a DEEP cut)higher than one takedown and resting on top.
AnthonySullivan - I hate it when Jimmy yells at Zilla. Zilla is too nice to yell at.
Could Jimmy get in trouble for trying to intimidate an OSAC official? Good luck trying to win a decision again Jimmy.
Fuller vs McKenzie

I've said it before, but McKenzie is a tough, scrappy dude who looks like he doesn't have much of a skillset. I'd love to see him get in with a good camp and learn some shit.
LMAO. The perfect moniker.
PERFECT MONIKER = THE LIGHT SKINNED BLACK GUY FROM TRITON.
Werd!
Mike I did hand in a scorecard that had 40-Love on it but the next round was a TKO so it didn't get scored as such.
LOL, I'd love to see the look on the announcer's face trying to read that score.
