YOUR FEEDBACK REQUESTED

i thought it was a vast improvement from the last show. the colonel did an OK job, he obviously did some homework but the average 20 or 30 something guy doesnt want to hear the colonel have the reins in a mma PPV.

you had excellent commentary. please dont ever let jean claude van damme speak ever again.

Tell Sheridan that Fedor doesn't do Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.

i thought this bodog ppv was a huge improvement on the last one. the colonel drove me nuts with his "radio-esque" play-by-play, but you and jeff were fantastic. the first bodog ppv lacked class, but this one had a certain degree of pageantry - not quite like Pride's, but enough to set it apart from a redneck event (of course, showing putin in the audience helped).

the broadcast also seemed to convey a greater sense of organization. whether this ppv was more organized than the last one is irrelevant; this one felt smoother.

right now, i think the weakest link in the whole bodogfight chain is the tv show. the first season in costa rica seemed to have more compelling match-ups and a more intriguing production than the st. petersburg season.

I was surprised how good the commentating was.
Usually that is the first real "flaw" you see in new promotions.
But if you'd ever want to change it up a little, my tip is to slap a mic on Josh Barnett. He really is a great commentator.

Some downers:
The lightning
Too much Bodogmusic promotion
A little too much focus on the bodoggirls (if that is even possible)

But all in all it was a good event. Clearly alot better than I expected it to be and miles above the first Bodog PPV.

My only problem was I couldn't watch it with my wife and daughter in the room. It was porno-ish with the women.

Whoever the commentator that sounded like a little less raspy version of Rodney Dangerfield, tell him that it isn't wrasslin'.

As I mentioned in another thread, I thought that the "Colonel" was pretty terrible but I enjoyed your part of the commentary quite a bit. Being a BC boy and Canadian and having had the opportunity to hear you on The Score, you tend to do a very good job and are knowledgable on the fighters. I thought it was great - do you have any idea if the show on the Score is going to continue to run and are you guys filming new episodes at various shows?

I believe any MMA event that is going to use the ring needs to copy Prides winning formula for production...the music you guys played was very disappointing...the fighters should be allowed to play the music they want to that adds to the originality of an event...and the expression of freedom....and choice...the Ring seemed small...smaller than Prides rings...and some of the camera angles where kinda off...copy Pride...every thing they do is gold...from Camera angles to fight intros...

The commentary I could comment on....it seemed decent to me...there is room for improvement but well done...

from the one fight i listened to,you did good.

It was okay, good flow, maybe a tad cluttered, which is still better than being silent/stilted. In terms of cons, I thought there was some bias toward "Bodog" fighters. Some of the offhand, jokey comments seemed a little cheap. I'm not a fan of Osborne's voice, he just sounds like he should be doing monster truck rallies or local gonzo morning radio.

..."from the one fight i listened to,you did good."

Yeah, I only watched Aleks v. Pele and Fedor v. Lindland. But I also thought you were good. You really came off like you knew your stuff and you didn't seem to screw up anywhere.

Paul - I also thought you were the only one of the 3 who seemed worth listening to.  My one specific complaint was that when strikes were thrown, the commentators (not sure who) would make them out to be HUGE DEVASTATING strikes when they simply were not.  Just kind of annoying.

Not to take the thread off course, but Paul, do you have any information about the future of the "HFC" show on the Score?

As far as I know, HFC is full speed ahead under chairman Keith Crawford. Initially the plans were to involve the APEX board of directors, but it looks like APEX is now either on hiatus or gone for good so now Keith is running the show on his own. To my knowledge, the show is gonna be on The Score for a long time to come.
