I guess early estimates didn't do justice.
Gate sold 6.5 mil though (record)
What future card you think would break UFC 100 on ppv buys?
GSP, Brock in a grudge fight against Mir, Hendo... gonna take something real special to beat that lineup! Basically a one fight card with Sonnen Silva doing over 1 million is awesome.
People forget that Anderson isnt a huge draw and for him to have anything 600k is huge and respectable.
The show broke a number of UFC records, but not the big one. Early estimates have the show doing 1 million buys on PPV, which would put it in the same range as the Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez fight on October 21, 2010, and be the largest UFC number since that time. That’s a very early number and could vary greatly, as noted by the Mania numbers. But it handily beat Mania numbers as that show is estimated at 670,000 in North America.
That's just North America....
Isn't 670K a record for a card headlined by Anderson?
600k was mostly for Chael anyways...
There has been a drop in content on UFC events. Believe it or not I think we'll see more grudges or trash talk, maybe not at Chael's level but it's always interesting to see two guys that hate each other go at it.
Or at least have a some sort of story behind it - it's about appealing to the general public. How do you reach out to the people that are still unfamiliar with MMA and the UFC....
Tomato Can - Isn't 670K a record for a card headlined by Anderson?
and I think Sonnen/Stann only did about 250k
Stu Cazzo - The show broke a number of UFC records, but not the big one. I don't think it will go much higher then that.. But your right there is still time.
they are saying it did 1 mil buys, not 670k
Article is mad confusing, what the fuck are mania numbers? Is it a million or 670k?

670k in N. America
But Dana was hoping it would be more
1 Mill buys is about what people thought it would do, dont think anyone thought it would touch UFC 100 numbers.

I think they mean like US&Canada are the biggest buyers.. So combined they expected more
"Estimates"
Ok this article was written very shittily, looked it up, Wrestlemania 28 did 670k buys domestic (1.3 mil total), Silva Sonnen is estimated at 1 million (doesn't really specify domestic or total), although in the past numbers have always been based off North America until 146ish
Sorry I didn't know what "the mania" is, cuz I'm not gay
Still not close to 1.6 (UFC 100)
A mill is what everyone expected this show to do, who thought it would do more?
No full Primetime, no FX/Fox promo, two weeks after another PPV, June had 3 free shows in it.
If this was the same card it was originally and it happened in April as Jones/Rashad, two months between PPV and like 5/6 weeks before UFC shows they might have had a chance at UFC 100 numbers.
Cause they had two months between PPV and over a month between UFC shows so that really starved the fans, if they had that for this card with a full Primetime airing on FX and the original card with Faber/Cruz and Franklin/Le and Tito/Forrest then I could see them maybe approaching 1.5 mill.
Still anytime you can do a million buys its great, especially without Brock.

Not that difficult:
148 did 1 million buys; wrestlemania did 670K; 148 handily beat Mania numbers
What in holy fuck are "the mania numbers"??
Illidan -"But it handily beat Mania numbers as that show is estimated at 670,000 in North America."caposa - they are saying it did 1 mil buys, not 670k
670k in N. America
But Dana was hoping it would be more
They are saying that it handily beat WrestleMania numbers, which were 670k.
The current estimate is 1 million for UFC 148.
