Mendes was face, down hands up, and not moving at all.
Renan was still moving trying to dodge. When Herb felt he couldn't successfully defend himself he ended it.
There are significant differences.
Mendes was blocking with a few seconds left in the round (I think, havent rewatched the fight).
Compare that to Gomi getting destroyed and Herb not stopping it until he wasnt able to stand on his own and Joe walked away.
I dont think its some conspiracy, just inconsistent like Herb has a track record of being.
