Might as well dig up the corpse of Andy Hug too while we’re at it

These guys need a retirement plan after fighting. Sad they have to keep fighting this late in life

There probably just isn’t a ton of money in kickboxing. I feel like it is growing in popularity with the success of fighters like Izzy and Pereira transitioning so well into UFC. There isn’t a whole lot of interest in the sport in the western hemisphere unfortunately.

I thought those old K-1 tourneys paid well? I could be wrong. Maybe it was just for the winners

I think it was mostly for the biggest winners and stars

Not quite sure. I certainly hope they were paid well for it! I know Glory has had financial problems and has almost went under and obviously K1 has had a ton of issues.

Hopefully this revival is beneficial and the mafia stays out of it lol

Hopefully its vs Bob Sapp…he needs to avenge those losses

I know Bob Sapp is very good friends with Rampage Jackson and still trains all the time. Heard Rampage talking about him recently.

I rank Ernesto as the third greatest heavyweight of all time behind 1. Rico Verhoeven and 2. Semmy Schilt

I love kickboxing, but Bob beating hoost is like Brock becoming UFC champion.

It proved without a shadow of a doubt that if the athletic freaks in the NFL had went into combat sports instead, we wouldn’t even know the names of the current top 10 guys at heavyweight, they never could have even made it to main card status

Lol at everyone just assuming Ernesto is destitute.

Ernesto was a top star in Japan. His Sapp fights alone likely made him anywhere from 100k - 300k

With all his other tournament wins and career aside he made a shit ton of money.

He is just a lifelong competitor/fighter and wants to get one more in him while he feels he still can maybe lol

My thoughts too. I think it’s just Ernesto wanting to compete again more than anything.

Hes also at 99 wins

Exactly how badly over the years do you think he wanted to get to 100 wins.

But injuries / life caused him to move on in life yet it’s been at him for years probably
