Round Three
The final round begins with both fighters taking the center of the cage cautiously once again. Cote moves in with a lead uppercut and hook combo that miss. Cote steps back and steps forward again, landing an uppercut that seemed to stun Ortiz. Tito puts his hands up, urging Cote to throw more punches, similar to Ortiz’s reaction to Liddell. Ortiz is red faced and shoots in, but cote sprawls and lands another right hand to Tito. Cote lands a jab, and a frustrated Tito misses with a jab of his own. Cote holding his left arm out and keeping his distance from Ortiz. Tito drops down and shoots in, clinching with Cote and driving him to the fence.
Three minutes and thirty seconds left in the fight with Ortiz holding Cote against the fence. Tito mostly holding Cote against the fence, throwing an occasional elbow or punch. Cote brings his legs up in an armbar attempt around 1:40, but Tito defends. Cote attempts to stand up, but Ortiz drives him back to the fence. Tito in Cote’s open guard against the cage, now with under a minute left and some boos emerging from the crowd.
40 seconds left and the boos are becoming louder as Tito continues to hold Cote against the fence. Tito attempts a neck crank momentarily with 20 seconds left. Tito lands a couple light punches to the face and ribs. The fight ends with boos from the crowd.

definitely not the performance that ortiz needed. a "cautious" win is not the way to go especially over a relative unknown.
