Alex Pereira vs Wanderlei Silva

Tagged cro cop one good time in their first fight

I was very distracted by Mirko and his CAKES rewatching the first fight

2:30 funny seeing Wand warm up by shadow boxing. Just to get in the ring and swing like a bum

Wand went for 4 takedowns, got 3. He was just waiting to catch the kick half the fight. Did nothing when he got cro cop down. Wand only landed maybe 1/3 of what he threw, maybe 10 strikes. Mirko gave him a nice tattoo on his ribs.

When Cro Cop called him out for part 3. 10:40 of the video

Spoilers: Wand retired after the call out

That’s about how many times Crocop tagged him.

Almost as good as the point about Wand not doing anything with grappling when there were automatic quick standups.

Clearly an educated perspective.

I still remember an interview they did, asking Wand why he took the fight. He said, “I am not afraid of any man on Earth.”

Yeah, bjj black belt couldn’t do a thing against an untrained kickboxer on the ground.

Cro Cop connected with solid strikes. Wand landed a punch and a body kick, between desperate attempts to get Mirko to the ground.

We all know how that wouldn’t ended in pure striking.

This is where I cease to acknowledge you on the UG. You’ve crossed the stupid noob line, see you on the OG lol.

I always thought the first fight was shit…meaningless.

Meanwhile Jon Jones refuses an opponent switch to Chael Sonnen. Anderson tries to refuse a Weidman fight and say “Cung Le deserves it more” and was openly afraid of JBJ. we know how GSP felt about fighting MWs during his title run.

And those kind of guys were largely braver than the newer crop of guys.

Fight fans these days don’t have enough appreciation for a guy willing to fight anyone, not only after 6 months of studying tape and psyching themselves up and having smarter people teach them how to beat that particular guy like the other poster said.

Tell these guys they have to give up 100 lbs. on 2 days notice and they’ll be working at a car dealership the next day lol.

Fight fans today don’t remember that Pride fucked with a lot of fighters by not telling them who they’re fighting until it was too late to form a solid game plan in training camp.

Thats what I loved about Pride. Wand was willing to (and did) fight everyone and anyone. He fought in the MW Grand Prix as the Champion rather than sitting it out and fighting the winner. I wish the Mirko that fought won the HW Grand Prix would have been the same one post-Pride. You have these UFC marks yammering “Mirko sucked, as soon as he got to the UFC it showed”. I think Sylvia and Arlovski were the champs most of the time during Mirko’s prime. He would have KER-USHED those guys. Highlight reel KO’s.

Can’t believe that Wand and Igor both roamed the same halls of Pride for all of those years, both the same weight and they never fought.

Nothing I stated was wrong.

They were both too busy losing to cro cop

Just another “wtf”. They fought common opponents but not each other.

You ever hear of a typo/autocorrect you stupid fuck. My phone is programmed in Italian. I make spelling errors all the time queer.

That fuckin retard quoted the wrong person completely and blamed me for ass-fucking? I was 1 letter off. I think most people wouldn’t give a shit about my mistake.
