I emailed Kimura BJJ to see if there is any relationship.
It seems they do have a relationship with the academy. One of their purple belts apparently teaches there. So that is confirmation that there is some legit instruction.
I am still going to investigate the black belt claim by this cooper guy.

that may be legit but he himself is claiming to be a black belt so having someone come in regularly seems odd. I honestly doubt this guy is even brazilian. Someone send him something in portuguese and see how he responds
The guy who teaches there is actually a brown belt and seems very legit. He won a masters at the NY Open in 2009 and 2010.

He also made a 'special forces' claim on the BJJ forum. Guessing that is about as legit as his black belt from "family machado"

crazygrimreaper - at least the guy teaching the bjj is extremely legit and we dont have another group of unskilled langers in the gym, it just appears to be one fraud in the gym.
