Ariel, Why try so hard to make it an issue?

In your interview with Dana White post UFC 117 you kept trying to tattle tell on Anderson for holding the submission too long. Which isn't even true in the first place. Anderson held the position because Rosenthal went in to stop it, Chael did the "I didn't tap" thing he does, Rosenthal backed up and Anderson was like "hell no, he tapped" and merely held on to Chael's wrist to not lose the position in case Rosenthal messed up and let it continue.

What are you bitching about I thought it was a great interview!

AH: So he did tap out, therefor he held the submission for a long time.
DW: Yeah, he did.

Therefor technically that should be a punishable offence, I think thats what Ariel was trying to clarify.

anderson held it.. but sonnen was still trying to fight.. would any of you let go without the ref saying for sure that the fight was over..

he only tapped twice and the referee began to step in, anderson silva only held it afterwards during the confusion and chael sonnen had his head out by then.

iirc chael sonnen did something similar against paulo filho, anderson silva wanted to make certain.

this wasn't the same babalu continuing to hold a choke after a guy has gone out.

i noticed this too when watching the interview. seems kinda shady from ariel that he wouldn't let it go. especially considering that it's not even true lol. freakin weird

I know Ariel and Dana didn't have much time to review the tape but they were both wrong.

Right after the camera zooms you can see the ref back up a little, that's even after he hasn't waved the fight of yet. You see how he hesitates to stop it? That's why Anderson didn't let go right away so he merely held on to Chael's wrist. Anderson just wanted to make sure the ref was stopping the fight knowing Chael's history with tapping.

Ariel is on Dana's nuts pretty hard ... Those two should just fuck and get it over with.

He held it because Chael tried to say he didn't tap.Anderson wasn't putting pressure on just holding the arm until the ref said it was over.I don't see the big deal.

watching it live and having had a few to drink... didn't really notice that before...

seems anderson did hold it a bit long....and cranked on his arm for a brief moment after josh was down trying to break it up...

might speak to how much anderson actually WAS pissed about all the trash chael talked...

Ahh...that good ol' journalism.

It's impossible to say for sure unless we could hear what was being said between Andseron, Chael and Rosenthol in that .gif, but it appeared to me that when the ref first stepped in, Chael was prepared to act like he hadn't tapped and try to keep fighting, and that's why Anderson didn't fully let go right away.

good thing Anderson held on or the excuses would be unbearable

dking - good thing Anderson held on or the excuses would be unbearable

EXACTLY
dude has a history of that shady shit

Ariel is usually very on point, not a big deal if he gets it wrong once in a while

The ref was decisive??? really he looked confused, for a minute there I thought he was gonna restart the fight.

and he does this snitch shit a lot.

how appropriate coming from the Gaza kid

This is the first time I've seen Rosenthal screw up.

WTF is Ariel talking about. It's clear Anderson layed off the triangle when the ref came, that's how Chael was able to pop his head out. If he was holding on like Ariel says, Chael would've been out. Doesn't take long for a triangle to put a guy to sleep.

Holding onto the wrist to maintain a modicum of control while the ref makes up his freakin' mind is not the same as holding on and cranking the sub.
