Ariel, Why try so hard to make it an issue?

crazydave - Ariel is on Dana's nuts pretty hard ... Those two should just fuck and get it over with.

that would make for an interesting VLOG

The Ariel hate begins, we may as well turn away the best MMA journalist from the UG as well since we've done it to everyone else.

That's what Ariel does. Jon Jones = repeatedly press Jones to call someone out. Matt Hughes = repeatedly attempt to get Hughes to comment positively about the "gracie killer" moniker.

Ariel tries to get fighters to say controversial stuff in interviews. He keeps pressing even when fighters refuse to take the bait. While I like Helwani's interviews in general, I think the constant pressuring is too tabloid-like for sports.

Ariel was doing his job and it was a valid issue to make.

Not really. Ariel is known for asking questions or calling it like he seees it.

He should expect the same in return. Clearly in this case, he didn't know what the fuck he was talking about.

Was just going to respond with the same thing. He's a straight shooter so I bet he can handle a simple question directed at him.

Not a bad question from Ariel although I think he was wrong in his thought that Silva was holding on to the sub for any reason other than this.... One of the posters in this thread had it right on....think Anderson just held it until he got confirmation from the ref that the fight was really over....no other reason I believe.

Ariel is good and normally has great interviews but is completely in the wrong here. it's a non-issue. and Anderson DID let the triangle up when Chael tapped, which is the only reason he got out in the first place. it's not like Chael tapped and Silva refused to let him out and put him to sleep. he only kept the arm locked when Chael tried to keep fighting.

Sonnen fake taps then tries to keep going (in yet another fight) and Rosenthal hesitates to stop the fight. like someone else mentioned, thank god he did keep the position otherwise the excuses and "Sonnen was robbed" threads would be endless. Sonnen deserved to have his arm yanked for trying to bait & switch tap anyway, that's garbage. I can't believe anyone would be lame enough to try to compare it to something like the Babalu/Heath incident.

and I find it hilarious that all these people coming out of the woodwork now that this video pops NEVER mentioned this once until now.

reminds me of when BJ TKO'd Sherk and as a last ditch desperate effort people cried criminal offense cause Penn licked the blood off his gloves. or the Hendo/Bisping fight. or even the Rampage/Wand fight, which Quinton did throw an extra punch he shouldn't have but it's more the issue of people trying to rationalize their guy getting beat by harping on another issue cause they're embarrassed that they talked shit online for 3 months and were wrong.

Anderson won. Chael lost and is now Chael Sonnen (D). move on with your lives.
